Hiatus

Hello to all.
I know it has been a long while since I have posted here but I am back in black and ready to write. The latest chapter in my artistic saga is that I am currently working on some new self portraits. Self portraits are not something that I usually do so this is new and uncharted territory for me. This is made doubly so by the fact that I am painting them rather than drawing them, which is my typical modus operandi for portraits.

This new inspiration comes blatantly and unapologetically from my love and obsession with Frida Kahlo. I see so much of who I am and who I want to be in her, which is why I find her work so compelling. Anyone who has any familiarity with her work will no doubt see the influences in my portraits. So far, only one has been completed but the rough drawings for at least four more are in the works. This is very exciting and also  little bit scary. This could be the basis for my first gallery show in over seven years. I will post some pictures just as soon as my camera is charged.
