It was a rather lovely day out today, with the sun shining and the breeze blowing. They say there are going to be some thunder showers later this evening. Let's hope so because I love it when it rains. I love what it does to the air and how it makes all the colors of the world seem a little brighter. It would be nice if it could be like that all the time but then, I suppose, I would not enjoy it as much.
We seem to only find precious the things that are rare and few and far between. We think that everyday is the same, boring thing but that is only because we can't be bothered with the details. We take a quick glance around us and think that we have seen the whole picture, yet when called to describe what we have just seen we can do little more than provide a list of standard fare; a tree here, a car there, maybe a person walking about.
Being able to see the sacred in everyday life comes from taking the time to notice and appreciate the nuances of our daily round. Everyday can hold some wonderful new treasure that we never noticed before but was always there. Make every day an adventure by opening your eyes.
